Inspired by Sir Edmund Hillary's swiss army goggles Everest conquest, used by many tour de France cyclist in the early XXth century and favoured by vintage cyclists today.I have always loved their simplicity and function over form design. And I wanted to build some improved replicas, by using up dated modern materials and technology for better durability and comfort. The frame is no more tin stamped, but machined from a solid billet of aircraft grade corrosion resistant aluminium alloy. It makes the frame bombproof and yet extremely light. it provides a very accurate and stiff support for the optics, exactly the same way as for high end cameras.
The lenses are shatter proof and 100% UVA/B filtering, precision cut and secured by the mean of watch maker bolts. Here on photos clear yellow for high contrast in foggy / white out conditions
the comfort provided by the hand stitched fine and soft leather makes a big difference in any weather condition compare with the original version.
